Welcome to James Creek Outfitters. We own and operate our ranch and outfitting business on the historic Durham Ranch. The ranch has been a cherished hunting location for over 100 years, with 4th generation family members currently living on it. We take pride in offering exclusive elk and mule deer hunting experiences alongside exceptional service.
Led by Richard Ott, a seasoned hunting guide with over 40 years of experience, our team of trusted guides ensures a memorable hunt while maintaining a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere.

Family is very important to us at James Creek Outfitters.
Our family has grown to include 8 grandchildren ranging in ages from 6 to 21 years old. All of our kids and grandkids have a great appreciation for the outdoors and wildlife… and many are hunters themselves!
Our family is so important to us that we want to make a positive impact on other families through outdoor adventures. We have hosted many multi-generational family groups over the years. We love to see kids of all ages spending quality time away from electronics and the hustle and bustle of daily life. They gain experiences through hunting and can relax in the Colorado mountains. Watching families spend quality time together in nature, creating bonds and making lasting memories brings us joy!

We are delighted to offer exclusive hunting opportunities for elk and mule deer on predominantly private terrain in GMU 12 and 211. At James Creek Outfitters, we specialize in expertly guided hunts for elk and mule deer, tailored to archery, muzzleloader, and rifle hunters alike.
Our commitment to safety is of the utmost importance, as demonstrated by our First Aid Certification, licensing, bonding, and insurance. We are honored to be registered as #3059 with the Colorado Department of Regulator Agencies and esteemed members of prestigious organizations such as the Colorado Outfitters Association and the Northwest Chapter COA.
